Teacher Appreciation

We are beyond grateful for the hard work and dedication our teacher’s give daily to make school a wonderful experience for our preschoolers. We invite you to show your love and appreciation during the week of May 7th – 10th.

Some appreciation ideas for individual teachers are written ‘thank you’ notes, student artwork, or spoiling them with items from their Teacher’s Favorites list. If you are interested in showing appreciation to the entire CDC staff, we have created a SignUpGenius of items to stock the kitchens and provide breakfast for staff throughout the week. Thanks in advance for helping us celebrate our wonderful teachers!

Welcome to The Heights Child Development Center! Established in 1956, The Heights has been providing a loving, caring, Christian experience to children for over 60 years. The CDC is a weekday program offered mid/late August to May on Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for children ages 2 months to Transitional Kindergarten. Designed to meet the needs of the total child, our program helps the child develop in all areas: mentally, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.

With the collective learning of our experienced staff, we have surpassed expectations in creating an environment that not only gives the best possible care for your child, but offers an atmosphere of creativity, learning and fun. Our focus has always been on offering small class sizes with low student to teacher ratios.

The Heights CDC offers an exciting learning experience for your child through a center-based, hands on curriculum. Our motto is to learn through play … “if we aren’t getting messy, we aren’t learning!” We challenge children with a Biblically-based curriculum that captures their imagination by offering a learning environment where they can make discoveries, solve problems and think independently in God’s world.

The staff of the CDC is like no other. Our teachers are here because they want to be here. They love their God, love your children, and love this school! Many of our teachers started out as parents in our program. Their experience ranges from over 25 years to 1 year classroom experience. The teacher selection process evaluates education, qualification, experience, certification, references, classroom management skills, interaction with children, and a love for Christ. All of our staff is carefully selected and maintains their status through continuing education and training as mandated by the Texas Healthy and Human Services Child Care Licensing. Each and every staff member has been extensively background checked, fingerprinted and maintains current CPR and First Aid certification.
